Established in Maribo as Avena. The mill in Maribo burns down and is restored in Nakskov.
The company changes its name from AVENA to OTA – Alma Rasmussen wins the competition for the new name, and receives an annuity of kr. 200,-
The company begins the production and packaging of PAMA rice. Creamy rice pudding is the traditional Danish Christmas dessert.
The company is acquired by Quaker Oats Co. Head office, sales and administration are moved to Copenhagen.
OTA Solgryn gets a new design – the rolled oats that all Danish have grown up with. During years famous athletes like Michael Laudrup, have been ambassadors to healthy eating.
OTA starts producing Cornflakes.
1956 & 1959
OTA launches new products – Guldkorn and Havrefras.
A new product is launched: MENY chips. A potato is not just a potato. The factory turns the most common ingredient into a light, airy and crispy chip.
Managing director Ib Jenry Petersen acquires the company and names it Nakskov Mill Foods A/S.
The company is acquired by the KOFF Group and the company GaiaGrain is bought up by Nakskov Mill Foods A/S.
Nakskov Mill Foods A/S is positioned as a significant supplier of Private Label with focus on current trends and clean label products.
Focus on “house label” GaiaGrain: organic, free from, high fibers & protein and ancient grains.
The plant is modernized and expanded radically – it is free from allergens: soy nuts, egg and dairy.
New kids’ products are being developed with focus on whole grain and reduced sugar – tasty and healthy products for the whole family (key hole health claim is highly recognized in Denmark and Sweden).
